Yes, automatic sharing would become spamming, especially if you read a lot of content for example from those new Auto Facebook apps.

yes, I did make this one myself but it is a little rough because i didn’t use photoshop

And about the story about young people being better with computers:

I am a sophomore in high school and honestly I think it all depends on who is using the computers. Older people usually aren’t open minded to using computers because they aren’t used to with computers. But, that doesn’t mean younger people are better than older people at computing. We got iPads at my school a few months ago and most of the older teachers had trouble with but even some of the students had trouble using them. Me, being a geek and all, didn’t have problems but some students surprisingly didn’t. Generally speaking younger people are better with tech but that is not always the case.

I think it’s very much is the willingness of wanting to learn that effects how people learning new things. I know my dad could not use a computer, when we tried to teach him he never had a grasp of it. Now he has a girlfriend who sends him messages on Facebook, he’s gone from not even knowing how to get on the internet to sending messages back, this was over night. That prove that if you are willing to learn you can pick up anything.

    • Trey Rust

Exactly, dad hated texting until the company he worked for starting texting him… He wanted money so he learned :p

Another great episode guys, by the way, Pawel is the Polish name for Paul (I’m Polish :D )

  • Peter Saathoff

I think this whole concept of sharing every. Single. Thing. You do is way overkill. It quickly gets to the point where my brain gets flooded with too much information and I close Facebook for several hours to get away from all the mayhem. It becomes a giant mess that I don’t want to deal with. A lot of times it’s very helpful, mentally, to close out of social networking and clear your mind.

PS – my last name (Saathoff) is pronounced “sat” “off,” as in, “I sat down and turned the light off.”

  • Trey Rust

I disagree that adults can’t pick up on things as well as children because of how their brains are wired. It may be true that adults can’t pick up on something generally, but I believe it’s psychosematic.

    Here are some references:

    http://everythingesl-everythingesl.blogspot.com/2011/03/do-children-really-learn-languages-more.html

    http://esl.fis.edu/parents/advice/myth1.htm

The first comment on the second link echoes my belief. Adults don’t learn new things because they either (1) Have convinced themselves they can’t learn it because of their age, and are filled with regret for not doing it sooner and that becomes a slippery slope or (2) They just don’t want to change.

But I believe fully, 100% that adults /are actually better/ at learning completely new things/concepts than children. The brain doesn’t “unwire” for learning, all you do in life is learn! The brain only get’s more and more powerful. What people don’t get is how much little factors like not believing they can do it, or stress or anything seemingly unrelated can prevent them from learning it.

    On to math…

You really think we aren’t covered as far as words for storage go?

    Kilo 1,000
    Mega 1,000,000
    Giga 1,000,000,000
    Tera 1,000,000,000,000
    Peta 1,000,000,000,000,000
    Exa 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
    Zetta 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
    Yotta 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

    http://www.jamesshuggins.com/h/tek1/prefixes.htm

Keep in mind, each new prefix is one hundred times the previous one. This works okay the first few times, but then we start getting into more than the stars in the galaxy numbers. Especially since a byte is equal to eight bits (a bit is either a one or a zero), so…

    8 * 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 = 8,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ones or zeros.

So, they estimate about 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the universe: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/80beats/2010/12/01/the-estimated-number-of-stars-in-the-universe-just-tripled/

100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 is how many stars estimated in the universe.
8,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Is how many bits are in a Yottabyte.

    I think we’re covered for now ;)
